HOLIDAYS IN BRECKENRIDGE
Lighting of Breckenridge –
Saturday, December 5th
Activities happen from 12pm to 7pm on Saturday and start with the aforementioned Holiday Craft Market before other activities commence. Head on over to the Blue River Plaza for a trio of performances starting at 2pm with a holiday dance show from the Summit Dancers. Then, the Summit Choral Society will share its holiday classics with some caroling from 2:30-3:30pm before the Jingle Singers take the stage from 3:30-7:30pm with their take on holiday classics.
You can stick around Blue River Plaza for free hot cocoa and cookies at 4:30pm before joining Santa’s procession of Bernese Mountain Dogs down Main Street for the lighting of the Town Tree and caroling at 5:15pm.
If you still haven’t had enough, grab the little ones and visit with Santa Claus at the Barney Ford Museum for the sharing of holiday wishes and photos from 5:30-7pm.
Winter Dew Tour – Thursday, December 10th
The Dew Tour is back in Breckenridge for another year as the world’s top snowboard and ski athletes come to town to compete in big air, superpipe and slopestyle competitions on Peak 8. The Dew Tour extends into town with live music and a local rail jam among other activities that transform Breckenridge once again.
New Year’s Eve Celebration – Thursday, December 31st
Just another reason to launch fireworks. But, seriously, bring in the New Year with a boom and watch an amazing array of fireworks over Breckenridge Ski Resort. Get in the mood prior to launching with the Torch Light Parade which will feature hundreds of people flowing down the slopes with torches.

Because by the first weekend in December, the town has transformed into a sparkling holiday scene that is nothing short of a scene from the movies. Holiday Craft Market at the Breckenridge Arts District – December 4th-6th
From Friday, December 4th through Sunday, December 6th, stroll Breckenridge’s famed arts district to find the prefect gift for that special someone. Enjoy music and artist demonstrations while perusing the fine crafts for sale, including jewelry, ceramics, candles and more. All gift items are reasonably priced under $50. Hours vary over the three days with Friday hours 4-8pm, Saturday 12-6pm and Sunday 12-4pm.
Race of the Santas – Saturday, December 5th
Back for another amazing year is the yearly Adopt and Angel benefit, the Race of the Santas on Saturday, December 5th at 4:15pm. Join 100’s of holiday enthusiasts and costume-covered racers as they race down historic Main Street Breckenridge in search of awards and prize packages. Don’t worry if you’re not a runner as you can jog, walk or skip your way through the 6-block course while spreading your holiday cheer. Make sure to stick around after the race for the Lighting of Breckenridge.
